17. 🔥 Who Gave Jacob for a Spoil, & Israel to the Robbers? (Isaiah 42:24)

This verse uses both names—Jacob and Israel—to call God’s people to remember both their struggle and their destiny.

• Jacob means “supplanter”—a name tied to struggle, wrestling, and human weakness.

• Israel means “he who strives with God” or “God prevails”—a name given after Jacob wrestled with the divine and overcame (Genesis 32:28).
